The Beautiful South have split - because of musical similarities. The group announced the split with a typically funny and honest statement.

According to the Sun they said: "The Beautiful South have split up due to musical similarities. The band would like to thank everyone for their 19 wonderful years in music."

The group, from Hull, sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
