Athens International Airport, in the framework of its cooperation with Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, hosts at its premises from, February 27th to June 25th 2013, a video art projection titled “My Love soon”, work by Swiss artist Yves Ackermann.
The imagery of this video extends to painting with references to symbolism and realism. The blast of flowers, in extreme slow motion, captures the viewer’s imagination and mediates as an explosion of feelings. Colored flower fragments and dust display rhythmic compositions over time. The artist emphasizes on the importance of “time” trying to focus on special moments thus sustaining an action or stopping time rather than freezing it. The homonym song “My Love Soon”, which is the video’s soundtrack, was originally recorded in 2000 by Swiss composer Balduin.
This art initiative aims at offering a different visual and sound experience in the airport’s area. This video art projection takes place at the specially designed area “Art & Culture”, at Arrivals Level (Entrance 1) and is accessible by all airport’s passengers and visitors, on a daily 24hour basis.
